Yes eventually the Maxedia and Maxxyz Platform will move to Windows7 embedded.
Why do you ask? Is there something specific that does not work in XP ? Ideally you should no really deal with the OS anyway...

Matthias, thanks for the answer!

Principal causes:
1. In windows xp restriction RAM <2Gb...
2. Support 64x...
3. Support multitouch
4. Morally obsolete...
5. Some products aren't supported any more in Win XP (for example Acer T231H)
6. More many small improvements in windows 7...

Let's wait :-)

Thanks,
Vitaly Pravdin.

Matthias,

This move will require a non free-of-charge update?

Do you have an estimate time to have the Maxedia software installable in any PC?

If we're considering to upgrade from Rev C to Rev E, is better to wait until this move will be done? will be a new hardware Rev due to this move?

Thanks,

Hello Raul!

We can't tell when as we don't know when will Win7 Emmbedded will be release by MS. Plus we will need proper time to test all this...

It certainly won't be a free update.

Don't know about hardware changes.

Like us, you will have to wait and see :-)

"XP Morally obsolete..."
On consumer PC's and laptops maybe, but not in the embedded world.
XP embedded support will stay there for many more years.
The Embedded OS is also created here in-house at R&D, so no worries that it will go obsolete.

At some point we will go to Windows Embedded 7 for certain revisions of Maxedia for sure.

FYI, We do not use/support this ATI hardware in Maxedia.
Moving to Win7e is not a simple task.

Yes, that shouldn't be a problem, although Win7 is more effecient at using them.
