The P3-100/200/PC software includes a library of panel/fixture types (much like a lighting desk has a library of fixtures). Every software release contains the panels/fixtures available at the time of the release. Newer panel/fixture types can be added later.

In this example we will show how this is done, by adding the EC-10 panel/fixture type to the P3 System Controller.

First download the correct panel/fixture personality file from the Martin Professional support website. Extract the *.XML file onto a USB Memory Device.

On the P3 System Controller you can see that the EC-10 is not yet included, as it is not available from the Fixture Library in the top-left corner.

Enter the Fixture & Firmware Library via the "tool" menu at top-right corner of the screen.

Jump to the User Library tab.

Insert the USB Memory Device (with the Personality File) into a USB port of the P3 System Controller. You will see the contents of your USB stick on the left, and the contents of the internal P3 System Controller database on the right.

Drag the Personality File you want to import from the left to the right. It will now be copied onto the internal storage within the P3 System Controller.

Once the copying is completed, press "Close". You will see that the EC-10 is still not available from the Fixture Library in the top-left corner. In this case this is due to the fact that the current showfile has a 20mm dot pitch (and thereby only accepts Panels/Fixtures with a dot pitch of 20mm or more).

Create a new showfile with a dot pitch of 10mm (the menu will also indicate on the right that the EC-10 will be supported in that showfile).

You will now see that the EC-10 is supported in this showfile.
