I searched the entire forum for 'provideoplayer', to no avail. I would like to use our Martin M1 to control videos playing from a new Mac Mini that I am setting up right now with RenewedVision's ProVideoPlayer. I found that there IS a fixture already for PVP and PP5 and I read that PVP accepts DMX over ArtNet.

My question is on what Universe would the Mac Mini over the network be included?

If you can send ArtNet to this application then MacMini will have to have it IP address set to 2.x.x.x / subnet 255.0.0.0 and the DMX address/universes must be set somewhere in that application.

Hello,

As mentioned, the PVP profiles are already included in the library

See Paul's instructions about Art-Net IP settings.

In regards to setting the Art-Net Universe in PVP:
M1 Universe 1, is Art-Net 0:0
M1 Universe 2, is Art-Net 0:1, and so on....

Just to clarify...the IP address MUST be in the 2.x.x.x subnet? Or, can I use any subnet scheme?

Thanks Ofer...that helps.

Hello,

As Paul mentioned, Art-Net is very specific about the requires IP address

IP: 2.0.0.1 (for example)
Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0 (obligatory)

Is the PVP fixture in the Library based on PVP version 1? I have PVP v2 and there are a lot more options available in it than are available on the M1.

In the PVP manual, I see channels 1-51 are for Global Options and then each layer gets the same. For instance, my 'Layer 1' has channels 52-102, with options of 16-20 on Channel 58 being for playing a video.

In the Martin Fixture, the fixture uses 11 channels and I cannot find one that properly corresponds to playing a video.

Ofer,
I talked to Chris at RenewedVision and he mentioned that someone from Martin had contacted them about the updated specs for PVP2. And, he told me PVP1 only had 11 settings. So, I'm 99% sure the fixture in the library is PVP1. I'm going to send in a fixture request for PVP2.

Hello,

I got your profile request, and responded back

The first generation PVP, is simply called PVP, and is definitely different than PVP2

Lets keep this conversation via E-Mail

Hi Jason,

I've created the PVP2 profile, and never got any feedback about it, so I guess it is fine :-)

Ofer,
Unfortunately, we were already in our musical before I could test the beta profile. Now that it is over and I am catching up, I plan to setup our TVs, again, and try the profile in the very near future.
