Having issues connecting my M1 to the ether2dmx8 box. Every time I tried to change the Etherdmx address on the M1 and "apply" it, it bounces back to "Automatic". M1 using v3.44.604. The Ether2dmx8 box has the latest firmware. Do I need to leave the M1 in automatic and re-address on the Ether2dmx8 box? I've reset the box to factory default; with it in the 2.xxx.xxx.xxx range. The console in automatic mode is in the 169.xxx.xxx.xxx mode. It goes into the 2.xxx range when put into etherdmx but will not maintain it.

Hello,

This should be an easy procedure.

1. E2D8: Don't do anything. Definitely, no need to change the default 2.#.#.# IP address
2. Console. Use the EtherDMX option, not Automatic. No other options needed. Press Apply, and wait for the new address (2.#.#.#)

Make sure nothing else, but the E2D8 is connected to he console
Make sure you are using the EtherDMX port on the console
Use a single, RJ45 crossed cable, or a network hub, using 2x regular RJ45 cables

Enter System\DMX Settings\EtherDMX, to confirm the E2D8 unit is detected

Ofer: The problem is that when I hit apply, the EtherDMX option jumps back to Automatic.

Did you try the same, with the Remote port?

Tried the remote port and lo and behold, it works!! Etherdmx stays on when applied. What is going on? I thought the network interface #1 is the EtherDMX port. Is this a software or hardware problem? Don't know if someone opened up the console and swapped the connectors by accident....thought?

As far as I know the 2 network ports are identical, this is why you can swap them

Not sure why the other network card does not accept any changes..

This seems like a hardware, or driver issue, so I suggest contacting your local Martin rep
