The outputs on my backup console seem to be suffering from a case of multiple personality disorder.
-All DMX routings are defaults. -Using 8 DMX universes and 2 artnet universes. Each hard line goes to individual opto's, one each on 7 beams. -Grabbing beam 7 fixtures causes beam 5 fixtures to behave as if they were beam 7 fixtures. Beam 7 fixtures operate normally. -Beams 4 & 6 doesn't receive any data. -Beams 1-3 operate normally.
Problem is not with the lighting rig as main console operates normally. All fixtures respond as they should and have no problems. Problem is decidedly with the spare console however I am unable to figure out the best way to troubleshoot it. It's currently running through two 4-universe DMX DataLynx switchers to provide switching ability in case the console goes down. Have upgraded and downgraded software with 364, 366, 371 with no success. Currently running 371 and console is VERY laggy although the problems arose prior to latest update.
Console is serial #9 if that gives you an idea about age. It's a Feld console so maybe a Martin guy can look in the records and check on the last refurb of the console? Thanks for any help you guys can throw my way.
That is not the serial number of the desk and certainly not console #9. You should not run any beta software on the show unless specifically instructed to do so and also not update to new release on your own ;-) The DMX ports adressing sounds messed up. Check the DIP switches on the PCBs against the picture on the inside cover. Double check your DMX card firmware. In case none of it helps the card may need a bootload. Contact the Martin US service department for help and instructions for that.
Thanks Matthis, I got in contact with Jo and I'm sending him some log files. DMX output is definitely screwy. You can thank Joel Young for the beta software ;-) Dipswitches are definitely correct as per the wiring guide inside the console.
