What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to set up two Maxedias as Slave/Master. I've used a crossover cable (also tried a switch) to go from the "remote" jack on the breakout box on each system (which are correctly connected to the ethernet jack on the motherboard.) One machine is running 4.20 (our Maxedia Pro Revision D.) The other, a Pro revision E, is running 4.40. They both "see" each other and correctly report their IP addresses - 169.2.2.2 and 169.1.1.1. But in the "network slave list" each of them lists the other as "No Maxedia found" and lists the other machine as being in "StandAlone" mode, while they're both really in "Networked" mode.

I'm sure it's something simple, but danged if I can figure it out!

I doubt you can network two different software versions together. It is not tested by us that way.

Thanks Matthias, bringing our revision D up to 4.40 did the trick. The two machines are chatting merrily now.

Yes, the networking always checks the build versions. You can see them also in the network window.
It will only exchange data is the versions are the same.
