On the fare in Frankfurt I saw a Submaster-Module and a Transition-Module connected to a M2Go. Is this something new, or did i just miss something?
How is it connected? In the technical data is just written Rj-45 connector, I do not remember to have one on my M2PC, or do I?

Is it possible to use just one of this two modules, or do I have to use both together?

Thanks, Mikel

The submaster module I can help with. The cat 5 connector is actually a usb. M-Series™ Module link USB: Neutrik locking RJ45 Ethercon sockets. So you can just use standard usb cable to connect the units or use the cat 5. The cat 5 is so that it is a locking connector. I believe there is a wiring layout somewhere but I would need to look for it.

The narrow modules you saw are part of the M6 line up, the housing were custom made to see how the feedback is from the market.
Connection is a simple USB cable, as internally it needs to be split into an RJ45 and a power connector.

This is different than our regular modules as they have AC power coming in, so only the data is needed. These narrow modules need the USB connector to carry both data and power.
We didn't finalize this design yet, but good to see some interest :-)

I too was very pleased to see those narrow external T Bar and Submaster modules appear at Frankfurt, in true nerd style, I was even there for the unboxing! ;-) I remember when I saw the M6 before it's release, and even back then started to pester Matthias for these!

As soon as they hit the market I'm having a few for my M2GO!!!

Thanks.

Yeah they are the same ones as in the M6, but in an external housing for use with the other desks. As it stood before Frankfurt, you could not get external versions of these modules. Hopefully, these prototype ones will be available in the near future.

Thanks.

It will be nice to have a Playback II + a programming wing in the same housing to work with a touch screen laptop. But then it will fall somewhere between M2PC and M-1. In fact I think this will crash both of them... How about to add the submaster wing also...
