I sent the following to service, but figured I would post to the forum as well. Just in case someone here has had a similar problem and found a solution.

Hello,

I am having a very concerning error with an M1. I upgraded to M1_Version 3.40.540 with no problem. Everything acted as it should.

I then began to update the firmware. All firmware updated with no issue. I then began to update the llC. During the middle of updating -- (80-F080-01) TrackBall (V3.40) IIC.hex -- I received the message that the updater was "(not responding)". The update was already halfway through the writing process.

After 20 minute of waiting for response, I turned the M1 off and restarted. Now I have a huge error. The trackball does not work. An external mouse does not work. The touchscreen seems to respond okay while in show mode.

BUT, when I try to enter the tools/maintenance screen for try to finish the llC update, the touch screen does not respond. I cannot use the touch screen in any of the windows "file" sections of the menu. I cannot enter the firmware/llC update menu and fix this.

I have tried a complete re-install of the OS and have had the same results. It seems as if the half-written -- (80-F080-01) TrackBall (V3.40) IIC.hex -- has really screwed things up. Do you have any suggestions on how to remedy this?

I wonder if I can use a FTP service and finish the update through that? Or maybe update through a network with another console? I really hope I don't have to send it in for service and can find a way to fix this in house.

Thanks for any help.

Tony

Hello Tony,

Did you try hooking up the external mouse to different USB ports?
