so i got a new laptop a while back, and went through my usual install process, got all my software back on it and it's been running great.

until this weekend when i went to boot up M-pc.

it seemed to install properly first but so i never bothered to check it and open to be sure.

but upon first run by clicking on the icon in the start menu, it went back into the installer, and that's where the issues start.

some repeated errors about services not starting or not being avalible, (sorry i didn't write down the exact errors i was on site and was in a hurry) i gave up for the day and used another solution

today i've spent a good part of the day uninstalling and trying to reinstall, here are the steps taken,


-uninstalled ALL martin software, (M-pc, Driver software, Lightjockey 2. Manager)

-reboot

-uninstalled all SQL server software

-reboot

-run the martin clean up .Bat file

-reboot

-redownload M-pc installer

-reinstall SQL server software from microsoft

-reboot

-atempt to reinstall M-pc software------
it hangs on a unspecified step but eventually gives an error it can't reach the SQL server and fails the install.

-uninstall everything again

-reboot

-reinstall M-pc without previously installing SQL (letting M-pc installer do that)
Same Error and issue

**as a side not, when it hangs, its for a LONG time, i let it sit most of the afternoon before it finally gave in and popped uo the error


at this point im lost. no other software is having an issue, everything is good, but this software refuses to install. i've tried every combination of the above steps in every order i can find..and no joy.

system specs are:

HP touchsmart
2.45ghz i7-4500U
16gb ram
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (genuine)

all a fresh clean install, no bloatware, and all proper drivers, everything si running great.

any help would be GREAT! i keep a Duo in my toolbox as a Justin Case solution, and it's saved the day many times, but right now it's a of no use because i can't get the software working.

Did you maybe add a second user account to the PC?
