Tonight I had an issue where I touched fader number 8 and it sparked from static eletricity and that small touchscreen on the M2GO shut off.
To get it to come back on I had to restart the console.
Would this be an improperly grounded component? or something else?

Difficult to tell like this. Normally it shouldn't do that as we do halt test in all our product.

So should I send this console in for service?
The issue occurred again this morning.

you did check the mains earth connections to your equipment?
Is it on a carpeted floor, and or do you use a wheel chair?
Maybe some think rubber type of shoes.
Do you have very dry air?

Equipment should be protected / resistive to Electro Static Discharge(ESD)to some degree.

Be carefull, each spark can/will damage the electronics, upto a point that it needs repair.

It could also come from the DMX line, if the power source of the fixtures and console are not common, you have a ground potential issue.
